Respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, circulatory, nervous, endocrine, immune: nervous and endocrine regulate body functions o. Immune and circulatory protect the body from foreign invasion: function and processes. Function is related to teleological approach, which is the why . Process or mechanism is related to mechanistic approach, which is the how . One role of physiology is to integrate function and process into a cohesive picture: homeostasis. Homeostasis: similar/condition, balance in salinity and ph tests skill in adaptivity.
