Info syst tht facilitates activities of a group of ppl. Departmental info systs workgroup info systs tht support particular department. Functional information systs support a particular bus funct. When problems occur, almost always can be solved w/in group: enterprise. Info systs tht span org and support activities of ppl in multiple depts. Sometimes categories of procedures and users defined according to lvls of expertise w/ syst. Solutions to probs usually involve more than one dept. Changes must be carefully planned and cautiously implemented: inter-enterprise. Info systs that are shared by two or more indep orgs. Invlve hundreds to thousands of users and require cooperation among diff, independently owned orgs. Probs resolved by meeting, by contract, by litigation. How do enterprise systs solve the problems of departmental silos.
