Issues: factors other than genetic and learning influence behavior, behavior develops under control of both nature and nurture. Charles darwin on the origin of species: evolution of fossil records, structural similarities b/w living species, changes brought in plants and animals b/c of selective breeding, evo from natural selection. Evo of vertebrates: chordates = animals w/ dorsal nerve cords; species w/ vertebrae = vertebrates. Evo of amphibians: fish start going out of water; frogs, toads, salamanders larval form must live in water. Evo of reptiles: lay eggs, dry scales, don"t need to live in water.
