Ask questions that allow for short phrases or a few sentence answers. Have the person look at you not the camera. Ask people to summarize what they said if it goes on for too long. Pay close attention to what the interview subjects are actually saying. Glance at watch and make note of good soundbites. Warm them up by asking a few questions. Off camera notes can be taken if need to keep the interview short. As the reporter you are the best to summarize the objective.
