Some stress is necessary to keep us alert and active: according to hans selye, healthy stress can be referred to as eustress. These psychologists study how stress can lead to illness, how people can cope with stress, and psychological interventions: daily hassles and life changes. Daily hassles are regularly occurring experiences that can harm our well-being: ex: cooking, cleaning, being sick, being too overwhelmed with things to do, being lonely, crime in the area, weather affecting plans, finances, bad work environment. Life changes are majority positive and occur irregularly: ex: death of a spouse, academic failure, graduating from college/high school, hassles, life changes, and health problems. According to an apa survey, 3 of 4 respondents reported that finances are the main cause of stress.
