Since they were constantly reminded of the fact they were jewish, they decided to embrace it. People became accustomed to the changing conditions and just went with it. Only people from the outside looking in could see the danger after a while. Only very wealthy jews could live anything like a normal life. Pay non jews to represent them legally. The duty of the jewish woman: the household. Most of the problems arose with food and cooking. There were stricter laws against jewish shoppers and shopkeeps were very hostile towards jews. There was a lack of kosher meat.
