Document Summary

There was a lot of medical experimentation in the camp. Most of his research was in genetics and he performed horribly sadistic experiments on twins and dwarves in the camp. He was noted for his immaculate appearance. Nothing in his life before auschwitz pointed at him being capable of such cruelty. Purposefully introduced disease in some areas of the camp so that he could run experiments of the sick. Had a jewish photographer in the camp take pictures of all his experiments and of the bodies of twins and young women for his research. His experiments in sterilizing women were horrific. Injecting them with chemicals that made them sick and run fevers. He had proposed his research to himmler who approved and let him do what he wanted. He also worked on the sterilization experiments. This caused a lot of damage to the small intestine of his subjects and they were often throwing up.
