Montgomery bus boycott: rosa parks + naacp; economic pressure effective at ending bus segregation: debut of martin luther king and the southern christian leadership conference (sclc) Sit-ins: created emotional images as blacks acted nonviolently, even though they were being beat up - document 25. 4: more emotional images which put pressure on the liberal government to act: birmingham protests, freedom rides w/ klan violence.
