Self refers to the entire spectrum of human experience understood subjectively. Humans live unconnected to the dao unless they try for a connection. This whole theme of skeletons can be used to promote hedonist ways of life (think yolo). In this context it is used for the opposite. They say you are dead living in your pleasure-seeking ways and you need to seek a connection to the dao to get away from that and come alive. Alcohol, sex, wealth, and anger will be your downfalls. Greed, ignorance, and anger are where you fail. This is the term most accurately used to describe anger. Basically, it"s anything that disrupts your normal life. These things are considered normal, but they are not! Don"t listen to your therapist listen to the daoist! Yin is the bodily soul that goes with you to the grave. In order to transcend you must lose yourself and enter the void.
