ASIAN 230 Chapter Notes - Chapter 11: Lotus Sutra, Prabhutaratna, Stupa

In front of the buddha, a seven-jeweled stupa showed up. Everyone (gods and such) began to praise this stupa. Then a voice from the stupa said splendid bhagavat sakyamuni . Then the bodhisattva mahapratibjhana asked the buddha why the stupa showed up and why it"s talking. Buddha said the buddha prabhutaratna is inside because he had made a vow that his stupa will appear where ever the lotus sutra is being taught. Then mahaprat said they want to see the form of the buddha. The buddha replies saying that to see the form, he has to gather into one place all his magically created forms that are teaching the dharma in the worlds. So this is what the buddha does by emitting a ray of light from between his eyebrows. All the other buddas came to the location of the jeweled stupa. Buddha sakyamuni began to transform the land to make it look nicer for the buddhas to sit.
