Document Summary

The ribosome does not move, the mrna is. The large subunit"s rona has ribozyme catalytic activity. Initiation (assembly of components at ribosome) translation components are released from the ribosome the amino acid structure needs help with folding and recruits chaperone proteins. A ribosome attaches near the 5" end of the mrna strand and moves toward 3" end. Synthesis begins at the amino end of the protein and adds new amino acids to the carboxyl end. Translation involves rna-rna interaction: mrna and rrna. rrna holds the mrna in the ribosome. trna and rrna interact. Protein synthesis can be divided into four stages: treaded through it. The ribosomes reads the mrna 5" - 3". The polypeptide chain grows in an n (amino) to c (carboxyl) terminal direction. As the polypeptide chain grows, it moves towards the 5" end. At the end, amino acids attach to the 3" end of the trna.
