Document Summary

Factorial designs: making judgements about the simultaneous influence of two or more variables. A factorial design is described in the terms of its main factors and levels within each factor. There is no mathematical limit but you must be practical. Finding influence of 2 or more variables at the same time. Significant interaction = combined impact of one or more variables is greater or less than the influence of each variable individually. First step: calculate the average for each factor independently and for each combination of factors. Second step: using a statistical analysis program (spss) would then examine the pattern of response across the groups and the main effects, f-value is computed for each factor and for the interaction between the two factors, F-value is then translated in to level of significance. Neither factor is significant, no interaction between factors. F-value is computed for each factor and for the interaction between the 2 factors.
