Document Summary

One of the concepts that is discussed in this chapter is hospitality. Hospitality is important in a classroom setting because it is what makes learners feel at home. When a teacher provides hospitality to their learners, it makes learners feel more comfortable and as if they are at home. It makes the learners aware that the teacher cares about them. Teachers in this kind of setting also try to connect with their learners on a deeper level. One of my high school teachers that provided hospitality in the classroom was senora lara. She would always ask how everyone"s day was going and made the classroom feel as if it was home. Everyone was comfortable with each other and also felt safe and relaxed while in his classroom. It provided us an environment to let loose but still manage to get our class work done.
