Bandura"s bobo doll experiment-social learning: goal to see if social behaviors can be acquired by observation and imitation, independent variable (type of model) was manipulated in three conditions: 1. Non- aggressive model shown to 24 children 3. No model shown (control condition) - 24 children: 24 children (12 boys and 12 girls) watched a male or female model behaving aggressively towards a toy called a "bobo doll". Children who observed the aggressive model made far more imitative aggressive responses than those who were in the non-aggressive or control groups. Boys imitated more physically aggressive acts than girls. The girls in the aggressive model condition also showed more physical aggressive responses if the model was male, but more verbal aggressive responses if the model was female. The bell began as a neutral stimulus (i. e. the bell itself did not produce the dogs" salivation). The bell is a neutral stimulus until the dog learns to associate the bell with food.
