The duties associated with a certain role in a social, legal, or moral institution. Example: the responsibility of a parent to care for their children or of police officers to keep the peace. The usage of responsibility to identify casual connection. Example: the storm or flood was responsible for the damage. The moral and legal usages which identify certain conduct as violating an applicable moral or legal standard. Example: a person"s responsibility to aid another person in distress. The usage which identify the presence of normal capacities of choice and deliberation by virtue of which persons are found responsible, and the absence of which identifies the nonresponsible. Civil law is law in which private parties initiate actions largely to recover compensatory damages for injuries suffered. Is defined by institutions whereby officials of the state itself initiate legal actions for the conviction of persons for the violation of legal standards, where conviction under those standards justifies imprisonment or fines.
