The 6th amendment further lays out that trial must be public and speedy: congress decided that speedy means 100 days for federal crimes, but state courts also have limits of their own. 6th amendment also guarantees the right: to an impartial jury, which minimally means the jurors are not biased before the trial begins. The 5th amendment also prohibits a defendant from being compelled to testify against themselves: reinforces that the burden of proof is on the state, not the accused. 4th amendment due process clause has been interpreted by the supreme court to mean any illegally obtained evidence by police cannot be used at trial. Eliminate people who have an obvious reason for not being impartial (1) objections to a juror"s qualifications are called challenges for cause, and there are an unlimited number of them, which the judge approves or denies.
