Hydroponic yield per acre per year was more than 10x the yield in conventional and organic open field systems. With : less water, less fertilizer, less waste, no topsoil loss, no soil used, no herbicides or labor invested in weeding, no tillage, no risk of weather events. Growing cool season crops in cold regions (lowers heating energy needed) Using renewable energy for electricity needs (i. e. geothermal or solar)
