Conflict occurs at different levels (textbook calls them types ) Conflict between individuals due to differences in their goals or values. Conflict within a group, team or department. Conflict between two or more teams, groups or departments. Managers play a key role in resolution of this conflict. Personal. usually dysfunctional, because it is based on personal styles, tends to become about winning rather than functionally resolving conflict. About what the group will decide & do what to conclude, what criteria to use for decisions, etc. Up to moderate levels can be functional, for reasons discussed earlier.
