You ask people what is your favorite activity, they tell you that it is sex or some word synonymous with it. Theres a puzzle about how much time we spend on sex. This illustrates we don"t spend that much time on sex. We spend the same amount of time filling out tax forms on average. Everything follows from it. w/o sex, everything would be different. Its not clear why large animals have two sexes. From a biological, darwinian perspective, it makes no sense to have two sexes bc when you reproduce you toss away half your genes. Sex is by definition an intimate part of our lives and it matters a lot. For instance, many biologists argued that sexual behavior is to some extent a biological adaptation to spread genes. By that thought, non-procreative sex (gay sex, sex w/ birth control, sex with post- menopausal women) does not serve this purpose, and in some sense is unnatural.
