Document Summary

Light independent reaction circles around, reused recycled. Enzyme-mediated reactions that build sugars in the stroma of chloroplast. Co2 is in the atmosphere, carbon dioxide makes up . 7% in the atmosphere. The reason why carbon spins around in six sides, is because its always changing and going around each side. 6 carbons are required for a gluclose molecule. Starting material is regenerated after molecules enter and leave the cycle. So things can come go, but the cycle materials don"t get used. Photosynthesis is so important, because it makes oxygen. Photoautotroph: capture sunlight energy and use it to carry out photosynthesis. Sunlight is the ultimate dictator of energy on earth. Photosynthesis uses wave lengths of 380 to 750: the colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Pigment: organic molecule that absorbs light of specific wave lengths. Chlorophyll a: most common pigment and it absorbs violet and red. Equation for photosynthesis = 6co2 + 6h20 c6h12o6 + 6o2.
