Document Summary

Embryo development: the development begins in the single cell formed by the union of two parental cells, egg and sperm. Fertilization occurs about 24 hours before the egg is laid: the newly formed cell begins to divide into 2, then 4, then 6 and so on. Gradually various cells acquire specific characteristics of structure and cell groupings and layers. The groupings are called the ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm. The mesoderm develops into the bones and muscles. The endotherm produces the linings of the digestive system and respiratory organs: physiological processes, takes place during the transformation of the embryo from egg to chick. These processes are respiration, excretion, nutrition and protection: yolk sac. Layer of tissue growing over the surface of the yolk. Its walls are lined with tissue that digests and absorbs the yolk material to provide sustenance for the embryo.
