BIOL 2301 Lecture Notes - American Medical Student Association, Neurosurgery

The second seminar i attended was a very good lecture by dr. benjamin carson hosted by the american medical student association. Dr. carson talked about coming from a broken home, making his way through medical school and becoming one of the world"s top brain surgeons. Dr. carson went to yale university and the university of. He talked about how his mother used to make him read books and then write book reports on them which she would pretend to read (as she only had a third grade education) and then talk to him about. He talked about how much this helped him in wanting to do well in school and study. I thought his situation was very inspiring and his speech was actually really moving. If anything, it pushed me to want to work harder and achieve the goals i have set for myself.
