10 Buildings at Arkansas Tech University You Need to Know

In college, it's important to know your surroundings. Students will know what they are surrounded by and what is actually hidden on any college campus. This will help them to go forth with not having to rely on their GPS every other second. Here are the ten buildings you need to know at Arkansas Tech University.

1. Stroupe Building

This building is home to the Stroupe Building. It is home to the the baseball clubhouse and locker rooms for the baseball and softball team. It is a student-athlete facility and acts as an indoor batting cage for teams and has a lounge area.

2. Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center (RPL)

This building is home to the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center which first opened up in 1999. Here, students will find three floors worth of research materials online in databases and in books, computers, study rooms, printing stations, and meeting rooms.

3. Williamson Hall

This building houses Williamson Hall and is home to the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Hospitality Administration. It was first built and opened up in 1940 and is a historic part of campus. It has a test kitchen, dining rooms for students, and classrooms.

4. Thone Stadium at Buerkle Fields

This outdoor building is home to the Wonder Boys football team. Here, students can gather to watch some of the best play in home games. Students will be able to find a synthetic turf field, a video scoreboard, locker rooms, and a press box and suite entertaining for guests.

5. Browning Hall

Browning Hall was first built in 1913 and is one of the oldest buildings on campus. Here, students will find multiple campus departments such as economics and art. It also houses the University Relations Office, Admin Services, and the Controller.

6. Alumni House

This building serves as the house for alumni. Students will be able to find the Student Alumni Association, the Presidential Leadership Cabinet, and other student organization offices. Students will also find the US Army ROTC program for Arkansas Tech.

7. W.O. Young Building

This W.O. Young Building is home to the campus bookstore and the campus postal office. Here, students will find a ballroom space for student groups to host various activities and other resources for students to use for their classes such as lounge areas and study areas.

8. Dean Hall

This building serves as Dean Hall, an academic building with various classroom spaces for the Department of Nursing, the Department of Emergency Management, and the Department of Agriculture. It is also home to the health and Wellness Center where students can go see a counselor or nurse.

9. Doc Bryan Student Services Center (SSC)

This building is key facility for allowing students to connect. It was first opened in 1998. Now, students will be able to find the Student Services Office, Disability Services, Student Success, and Campus Life and Career Services. Students will be able to find a convenience store here too.

10. Administration Building

This building is one of the oldest buildings on campus. With over 100 years of serving the campus, this building houses the original campus cafeterias and university administrative offices such as the Office of the President, the Office of Development, and the Office of Academic Affairs.
