California State University - East Bay

Consider this list when you’re searching for residential living spaces in California State University – East Bay (CSU EB).  There are specific buildings assigned for only freshman students and others available for upperclassmen. Think about your options and choose one where you see yourself living in!

1. University Village

University Village buildings

Address: 25400 Carlos Bee Blvd, Hayward, CA 94542

The University Village buildings are for those students who are in their third year, fourth year, fifth year or are graduate or international students. These buildings include 1 single bedroom with 1 bathroom or suites with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a kitchen with a fridge and a microwave oven.

2. Pioneer Heights

Residential buildings in Pioneer Heights

Address: 1901 Harder Rd, Hayward, CA 94542

Pioneer Heights houses over 400 students in three 4-story buildings. Freshman Suites include 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living/dining room
area and a kitchen. The double/triple rooms include 2
bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a living/dining area with a stove and oven.

3. Coloma & Sierra Halls

Two of the Pioneer Heights buildings: Coloma & Sierra are reserved for students who are classified as second-year students. There’s a variety of rooms available such as single, double and triple rooms with their own kitchen and bathrooms.

4. Sonora Hall

Sonora building is in the middle

Address: 1901 Harder Rd, Hayward, CA 94542

The Sonora building in Pioneer Heights is designated for students who are classified as incoming transfer students. The building hosts programs for students to get comfortable with their new university and meet other transfer students.

5. Tamalpais Hall

California State University - East Bay tamalpais building

Address: 1901 Harder Rd, Hayward, CA 94542

The Tamalpais building is a mixed designated building, meaning there are students from all undergraduate levels living there. The first floor is for students who are classified as second-year students while the second, third, and fourth floors are reserved for first-year freshmen.

6. Sequoia & Juniper Halls

This is the Juniper residential building

Address: 1901 Harder Rd, Hayward, CA 94542

The Sequoia & Juniper buildings are for first year-first time freshmen. They’re grouped together to help them build a better experience as a freshman. There are activities, meetings, and opportunities for students in this building to connect with each other and build memorable experiences.

7. Calaveras Hall

Residential building in California State University - East Bay

Address:  1901 Harder Rd, Hayward, CA 94542

The Calaveras building is for upperclassmen and graduate students studying at California State University – East Bay. As part of the Pioneer Heights buildings, this hall has suites with their own living/dining room
areas and  kitchens.

8. Shasta & Diablo Halls

The red building is the Shasta residential building

Address: 1901 Harder Rd, Hayward, CA 94542

The Shasta & Diablo buildings in the Pioneer Heights are for upperclassmen and graduate students above the age of 20. Students can enjoy their own space whether in single rooms in suites or in doubles that include a dining room and bathroom.

9. Cadence Apartments

Residential buildings nearby but off-campus

Address: 28850 Dixon St, Hayward, CA 94544

Living off-campus can be cheaper than living in an on-campus dorm room. If you decide to live off-campus consider your necessities and how far you’ll need to commute to class. The Cadence Apartments offer pools, single bedrooms, your own chosen roommates and a short commute to school.

10. B Street Apartments

Residential buildings off-campus but close to campus

 

Address: 605 Orchard Ave, Hayward, CA 94544 and 26379 Whitman St, Hayward, CA 94544

Similarly to the Cadence Apartments, these buildings are off-campus and should be carefully looked into. You must find your own roommates and accommodations but it can be relatively cheaper to on-campus housing.
