Cape Breton University is a friendly, safe and community-oriented place and the campus at CBU is just as welcoming. Students are encouraged to live on campus, especially during their first year, because it is a great way to meet new friends from all over the world. You will be happy to know that all first-year students are guaranteed a room in residence.

1. Alumni Hall

Alumni Hall Residence Address: 1250 Grand Lake Rd, Sydney, NS B1P 6L2, Canada Alumni Hall offers traditional dorm rooms and trendy apartment-style living spaces. It has 35 two-bed dorm rooms and 24 five-bedroom apartment units that include shared lounge spaces and laundry facilities on each floor.

2. Cabot Residence

Cabot Residence Residence Address:  1250 Grand Lake Rd, Sydney, NS B1P 6L2, Canada Cabot Residence offers 31 apartment-style living spaces. Each apartment is designed in a quad configuration with four bedrooms and two bathrooms built around a shared living room/lounge area and kitchen.

3. Harriss Hall

Harriss Hall Residence Address: 1250 Grand Lake Rd, Sydney, NS B1P 6L2, Canada Harris Hall is a co-ed residence that offers 111 single, private rooms with a mix of private and shared washroom facilities. In Harris Hall, you’ll find a community living-room area, complete with a fireplace and shelving for books and games. This is also where you’ll find our 300-seat dining hall and central mailroom. Please note that Harris Hall is reserved for students in their second year or higher.

4. MacDonald Residence

MacDonald Residence Residence Address: 1250 Grand Lake Rd, Sydney, NS B1P 6L2, Canada MacDonald Residence is a traditional, co-ed dormitory. It has single rooms and double occupancy rooms with two beds, two closets, and a sink. There are shared washrooms, showers and laundry facilities on each floor.

5. Towerview Apartments

Towerview Apartments Residence Address: 50 & 70 Towerview Place, Sydney The residence offers two bedroom furnished & unfurnished apartments to both students and civilians in Sydney. The apartments are in close proximity to Cape Breton University. Residents enjoy a serene environment in a quiet community area that is near shopping, dining and entertainment joints.

6. Jefferson Apartments

Jefferson Apartments Residence Address: 39 Jefferson LnSydney Nova Scotia The building holds one bedroom apartments for rent to both civilians and students in Nova Scotia. The units are spacious and recently renovated. Some of the notable features include assigned parking, Enterphone Security System, laundry facilities, and on-site management. The residence is also close to public transportation and shopping, dining and entertainment joints.
