Fall is undoubtedly one of the prettiest seasons out there and being in Carleton University presents one with countless ways to explore this gorgeous season within the comfort of the unique campus. Here are 5 super student budget friendly things to have a taste of fall at its finest.
1. Walking down to tory Quad
On a clear fall night, to sit in the peace and tranquility on one of the wooden benches under the bright sky with all the stars is spell bounding. The contrast of this busy quad from day-to-night is astonishing and absolutely amazing.
2. The MacOdrum Library
It is one of the most prestigious learning spots on campus. It is also a site to enjoy the sunset from. Just have a seat with some coffee on any floor of the library facing the canal to enjoy a fine view of the merging colors as the day ends.
3. Canal & River
The CU campus is blessed with both a canal and a river. By its sides, gracing us with a brilliant river side trail to walk and enjoy year around but especially in fall as the trees’ colors fall to the viewers delight. The trail provides a secluded haven to play ball or for quiet pondering.
4. The Carleton Swimming Pool
It is a spectacle on its own with its massive size and going to depths of 14.4 feet. It’s a wonderful place for recreational swimmers and professionals alike. If swimming gets too boring, one can plunge into this vast pool by either the “Tarzan-like” swing rope, the swift slide or any of the tall diving roadsters. Honestly there is something here for everyone.
Saving the best one for last, renting a $5 cycle from outside residence commons can ensure you an incredible day out. If you’re feeling adventurous you can ride the bike all the way to Parliament Hill, absorbing the beauty along the way.
Hope these brighten your fall days before the long winter casts in.
