Clubs are a fun way to make friends, get involved, and build up your resume. It's best to join clubs in college to get yourself out there! Here's the top 10 clubs at Carnegie Mellon.

1. WRCT 88.3 FM

WRCT WRCT celebrates more than 60 years of radio broadcasting quality alternatives to mainstream commercial programming. WRCT has a wide variety of programs to choose from!

2. Scotch n Soda Theatre

Scotch n Soda Scotch’n’Soda Theatre is an entirely student-run group dedicated to the development of student-written theatre works, as well as focused on educating the campus community about all aspects of theatre.

3. Hyperloop

Hyperloop The purpose of this organization is to accelerate the development of a fully functional Hyperloop Pod as a part of the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Design Competition to be held every year.

4. Bhangra

Bhangra Founded in 2006, the purpose of CMU Bhangra is to provide opportunities and instruction for aspiring dancers. They encourage, advance, and promote the art of Bhangra dancing.

5. Explorers Club

Explorers Explorers Club is a group for those interested in outdoor activities such as rock and ice climbing, mountaineering, caving, hiking, backpacking, flat and white water boating, sailing, skydiving, mountain biking, scuba diving, etc.

6. CMU in Haiti

CMU in Haiti This club travels annually to Haiti to collaborate with and learn from various community organizations on the ground. CMU in Haiti's goal is to assist in humanitarian efforts to support grassroots activism.

7. CMU Quidditch

Quidditch They are a CMU club sport and a USQ official member team that plays the Harry Potter game of Quidditch. We practice twice a week, and we compete with other teams in the Mid-Atlantic region all year long. They even have regional championships!

8. Street Styles

img src="" alt="Street Styles" width="400" /> CMU Street Styles is a freestyle dance crew that hosts open sessions and workshops to share their passion for street dancing (popping, breaking, hip hop, etc.). They are primarily a freestyle group.

9. Counterpoint

Counterpoint This is Carnegie Mellon’s first all-female a cappella group. They are a group of girls who love to sing and harmonize and beatbox and jam out on stage and during rehearsals.

10. Energy Club

They aim to advance people's awareness of energy issues, technologies, research, and industry practices. They host student, faculty, and industry speakers, and have site visits to learn about real world practices.

5 Cool Events at Carnegie Mellon

1. Homecoming

Homecoming Like most colleges, Carnegie Mellon hosts their own homecoming. There is a homecoming tailgate, lunch, and other fun activities to celebrate the CMU Tartans.

2. Spring Carnival

Carnival This is a weekend long event with plenty of fun activities and competitions to participate in. Students can come to enjoy fun games, activities, rides and food.

3. Annual Fall Reception

  This is a speaking event for students and staff to enjoy. This is the first event for CMU's Speaker Series, and it's a great way to learn more about the world by listening to talented speakers.

4. Alphabetum Botanicum

Kandis Vermeer Phillips This exhibition features Kandis Vermeer Phillips’ illuminated letters, which are intertwined with plants, mammals and insects. It is a great insight into modern art and is a beautiful sight.

5. Orientation

Orientation CMU's orientation is a great way to introduce new students to the CMU community. They have fun events and social interactions for students to make friends and have fun!
