The School of Theatre and Dance at East Carolina University does an amazing job at allowing theatre students to express and find themselves. Theatre students at ECU become a family, as all theatre students take multiple classes together, and the atmosphere is extremely friendly. If you decide to major in theatre at ECU, you will not be disappointed, and five reasons that you should major in theatre are as follows:

1. 21 Amazing Faculty

 

There are 21 faculty in the School of Theatre and Dance at ECU, and this allows each student to get plenty of one-on-one time with a professor. Each student that majors in theatre is given advice by the faculty, and the faculty teach over 100 different courses. If you major in theatre, you will never have to worry about getting a bad professor, as each one is amazing.

2. McGinnis Theatre

 

McGinnis Theatre holds all of the performances held by theater students, and it is where the learning takes place by ECU theater students. The basement of the theater holds costume shops, and the theater is a beautiful building. As a theater student, you can begin to call McGinnis Theatre your second home (or maybe your first).

3. Sandra Bullock Did!

 

Sandra Bullock is quite possibly the most famous person that went to ECU, and she majored in theatre! She has had a very successful career, and it all began at ECU. If Sandra Bullock can get an education at ECU and be so successful, who is to say that you can’t as a theatre student at ECU?

4. Over 100 Courses

 

Although there are required classes to take as a student majoring in theatre, you can still take some electives in the theatre department. To fulfill these electives and your majors requirements, there are over 100 courses offered in the School of Theatre and Dance. Come to ECU and major in theatre, and you will be sure to never get bored with the different courses offered.

5. The Passion

 

As a student majoring in theatre, you are going to clearly be passionate about majoring in theatre at ECU. It is always one of the best experiences in the world for theatre students to be around so many other passionate theater students and theatre professors. It is truly an experience you have never felt or had before and would not experience at any other university.

 

Majoring in theatre at East Carolina University could be one of the best decisions of your life if you are passionate about theatre. All of the other students that are majoring in theatre will be as passionate as you are, and you will have found a family. Come to ECU, and get one of the best theatre educations in the state.
