Psychology is one of the most popular majors/minors at East Carolina University, so the education is as good as any other university. Students that  major or minor in Psychology never regret it at ECU, and they always find themselves having a completely different perception of the world when graduating. Some of the many reasons to major in Psychology at ECU are as follows:

1. 32 Faculty Members

For there to be about 800 undergraduate students, it is almost shocking that there are only 32 faculty members. Even so, these faculty members do an amazing job to give each student a quality education. Each professor is passionate about Psychology, and you will find that classes are a whole lot easier when these professors are having fun (which they always are).

2. Having Fun!

One of the coolest parts about learning Psychology is getting your mind absolutely blown. You learn about the many illusions that you brain perceives, the different ways your brain thinks, and the evolution of Psychology in general. It is extremely interesting, and if you are like many students, it is really fun to learn about these different Psychology ideas!

3. 800 Undergraduate Students

If you are coming to college with the idea that you will gain many lifelong friends, then majoring in Psychology could be the way to go. The Psychology department has about 800 undergraduate students, so there is a very big chance that you could find your best friend right in your major! You will fit right in with the 800 students, as you will all share a passion for Psychology.

4. Scholarships

Because Psychology is one of the most popular departments at East Carolina University, there are numerous scholarships offered to Psychology students. If you get a degree in Psychology, you could find yourself being in less debt than if you majored in a different department due to scholarships. Scholarships should not be the sole reason for majoring in a subject, but it is definitely a plus!

5. Education

Many of the Psychology classes are held in lecture style classrooms, so there is not much of a one-on-one type lesson. However, it is very easy to follow each lesson from each professor, and you will find it very easy to follow along in the lectures. For many of the classes, if you go to class and pay attention then you will get a good grade in the class!

Majoring in Psychology is not for everyone, but it is definitely a great option at East Carolina University. It can be fun, the professors are amazing, and there are many students majoring in Psychology to make friends with. Practically every university has a degree in Psychology, but majoring at ECU is as good, if not better, of a choice as any other university.
