The College of Nursing at ECU provides one of the most competitive atmospheres and one of the best educations available in nursing. Many people fight to get accepted into the nursing program, and those that do typically excel. Having the opportunity to major in nursing at ECU is something to be proud of, and the many reasons for this are as follows:

1. Competition

Everyone that applies to be in the nursing program does not get in, sadly. This is because the application process is so competitive. You must maintain at least a 2.75 GPA to apply, and you have to take the HESI Admission Assessment. Then, you can apply, your application will be approved, and you can be accepted!

2. Faculty

The faculty in the College of Nursing have many exceptional qualities. They are skilled practitioners, and they understand how to give students the best education in nursing possible. They strive to give back to their profession by teaching future leaders, and they work to aid those in undeserved regions with their expertise.

3. Leadership

The nursing students at ECU are some of the most impacting leaders on campus. Students are expected to pursue global health projects, celebrate diversity, and one day give back to the profession. The students that are accepted into the College of Nursing are natural born leaders, and it helps them to succeed as students at ECU.

4. Study Abroad

The Study Abroad programs that are offered to nursing students are exceptionally unique. The main programs include going to Guatemala and Nicaragua. While there, students provide health promotions to the communities in these countries. These Study Abroad programs are life-changing, and many students find themselves going on these trips more than once if they are able to.

5. Scholarships

The ECU College of Nursing offers numerous scholarships, and this department offers more than many other departments do. Scholarships each year range from $500 to $5000, and many students find themselves getting more than only one scholarship. Come to ECU, major in nursing, and get money to help you get your degree!

The nursing program at ECU is one of the best programs for nursing in the state, and students can get as amazing of an education as any other university. Students may find it difficult at times, but that is only because they are learning so much information in short periods of time. In the end, it is worth it, so come to ECU and major in nursing!
