The Department of Engineering at ECU is one of the best engineering departments in the state. Students learn in a collaborative way with other students, and this benefits them for their future careers. Students are always prepared for their careers when graduating. There are many reasons in addition to this why you should major in engineering at ECU, but the top 5 reasons are as follows:

1. Collaborative Learning

Students that major in engineering at ECU begin learning together beginning in the first semester of their freshman year. They become part of the Engineering Living Learning Community, and this allows students to live together. This aids students in having other students and friends to study with and get any homework help that they need. This translates into classwork, as students learn how to complete group-solving activities, and they understand how to work with others in the engineering field.

2. Accreditation

Every student that majors in engineering at ECU is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. This looks great to future owners of businesses, and they will keep this in mind at your interview when deciding to hire you or not. Only the very best engineering schools around the world have this accreditation, so ECU is definitely one of the best.

3. Scholarships

The Department of Engineering offers specific scholarships to students majoring in Engineering. This means that if you do not major in Engineering then you are not eligible for these scholarships, so extra money could be a great reason to major in Engineering. You could find yourself debt free when you graduate with your degree in Engineering due to this!

4. Career

Students that major in Engineering at ECU are as qualified as any student from any other student. Students know how to apply the information that they have learned while attending ECU, and this is due to the collaborative learning environment. Students with a degree know how to fully apply all Engineering skills for any career they may embark on one day.

5. Faculty

The faculty in the Department of Engineering at ECU strive to give the Engineering students the best education possible. The Engineering program has grown from 40 students to 593 in the past 13 years, and a large part of this is because of the faculty. The faculty are amazing, so come to ECU and major in Engineering!
