Hofstra University has housing accommodations designed specifically for first-year students and Honors College students but there are more housing options available for students in other grade levels. Explore your options here:
1. Stuyvesant Hall
Address: 370 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549
This residence hall is for freshman students. It’s home to the First Generation Student Living Learning Community and L.E.A.D. Every suite in this hall also has two double rooms, a bathroom, and a lounge.
2. The High Rises
Address: 300 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549
The High Rises contain six residence halls. Here you’ll find the Alliance, Bill of Rights, Constitution, Estabrook, Enterprise, Vander Poel Halls. Over 225 students can be housed in these buildings since there are singles, triple and quad rooms available. For Vander Poel, only students from the Honors College are allowed to live there. This is where almost all upperclassmen are located.
3. Colonial Square
Address: 385 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549
Colonial Square is the largest residence complex on campus with three courtyards and 11 two-story houses. Each house has a suite-style living holding 55-65 residents and it’s not exclusively for freshmen students.
4. Netherlands Complex North
Address: 360 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549
The Netherlands Complex is divided into two courtyards: the North and South sides. There are 11 total two-story houses. The North courtyard has the Delft, Groningen, Hague, Leiden, Rotterdam, Tilburg Halls. This complex is reserved for freshmen and all the suites inside have double bedrooms, a bathroom and lounge. Rotterdam Hall is home to the Math, Science, and Engineering buildings.
5. Netherlands Complex South
Address: 365 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549
The South courtyard of the Netherlands Complex has theAmsterdam, Breukelen, Rensselaer, Utrecht, Orange Halls. Included is the dining hall Oak Street Cafe and the offices for Academic Advisement, Counseling Services, Residence Life.
6. Nassau Hall
Addresses: 390 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549
Both Suffolk and Nassau Halls have single or double rooms for students who want a living space close to snack spots such as Smashburger and Dutch Treats. The sixth floor of the Nassau Hall has all the Themed Living Communities (TLC’s). They’re open to all students, regardless of major.
7. Suffolk Hall
Addresses: 395 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549
Both Suffolk and Nassau Halls can house over 465 students. They’re also closer to the Student Health and Counseling Center for students who regularly need to visit the center and want to be nearby.
8. Graduate Residence Hall
Address: 400 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549-4000
The Graduate Residence Hall is a five-story building for over 200 Graduate, Law and Medical students who need on-campus arrangements. There are different apartment/suite style living options with singles, double, three and four bedrooms suites.
9. Plymouth Hall
Address: 380 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549
Located in the Colonial Square, Plymouth Hall is specifically reserved for graduate and law residence students. It also has varying dorm living options for those who would prefer a specific kind of living situation. There are rooms within the Colonial Square with and without lounges, suites with single rooms and with double rooms.
10. Enterprise Hall
Address: 340 Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY 11549
Located in The High Rises, Enterprise Hall is one of the six high-rise residential halls north of the Student Center. For upperclassmen who want to be closer to the Fitness Center and the Student Center,The High Rises buildings are very close.
