Many college students enjoy going out on the weekends after a long week of stressful classes. While going out can be very fun, it can also be very dangerous sometimes. You should follow these tips to be careful, especially when drinking.
Go with a group of friends
You should always walk with a group of friends, especially at night on the weekends. You are less likely to have anything happen to you if you are with a group. Always stay with your group and make sure when you leave the same group is with you to make sure everyone is okay. Never leave friends by themselves or let them leave with a stranger.
Know your limits
You should always know how much you are able to drink that way you do not overdo it. If you overdo it bad things can happen because you will not be able to function right. I recommend not drinking at all, but I know college kids are likely to do it. Make sure you eat enough throughout the day or before you start drinking.
Always take your own alcohol
Never ever drink alcohol from someone else or from a house. You never know what they put in it and a lot of certain places are known to drug girls. If you bring your own you will not have this problem. Just make sure you never set your drink down and always keep an eye on it. Also, be careful and do not get caught if you are underage. Drink water periodically throughout the night so you do not get a hangover. Try drinking some water between each drink. If you do not drink then you do not have to worry about this. If you do not wanna do something do not be afraid to say no. You are free to make your own decisions and you should. Don’t give into peer pressure and if someone is peer pressuring you, just ignore them. If the situation gets worse then you should leave, if it gets even worse than that you need to get help.
Dress cute but comfortable. DO NOT be one of those girls that wear high heels to parties. Most houses are going to be super crowded and you will sweat a lot. If it is cold outside wear a jacket that you will be able to take off inside and tie around your waist. Do not bring a purse or a lot of money. DO not bring anything you do not wanna lose because it happens all the time. The only thing you should bring is your phone, maybe a few dollars for food or to get into a party, and a drink of your own.
Do not be one of those people that goes out every single weekend. Take breaks and go see you family or catch up on sleep. You do not want to be known as the person who gets super messed up every weekend and embarrasses themselves. Everyone will know who you are and make fun of you. Just remember to be careful and keep an eye out for your friends. If something serious does happen to you or someone you know, do not hesitate to call for help.
