Being a student is hard enough as it is. We have a number of responsibilities but it’s important for us to maintain a healthy life. Here are a few benefits of going to the gym at Pace University.

1. It’s FREE!

Most gyms require a monthly free but Pace University’s gym is completely free for all students. There’s no catch. When you go to the gym, all you have to do is give your ID to the individual on duty and then you can go in. More students should really take advantage of this. You’re healthy and it’s free.

2. Reduces Stress

A lot of people go the gym to relieve their stress. If your workload or friends have got you stressed, then go to the gym would be one the best stress relievers you can find. It’s like punching your pillow or eating a ton of ice cream when you were upset as a kid. But in the gym, you’re burning calories and gaining muscle mass. You get back what you put in and that’s a win-win in my eyes.

3. You have help

You don’t have to do it alone. Students at Pace University are supplied with treadmills, yoga mats, etc. to give ample opportunity them to exercise but that doesn’t mean you know how to use all of the equipment. And that’s perfectly OK. There are faculty advisors located in the gym office that are working on the clock to assist and answer any questions that you may have.

It’s OK to ask for help.

4. Cardio Workouts

If you’re not s big fan of lifting weights, Pace University has a  track that is available to students.  You can run how fast you want or jog at a steady pace. Doing cardio workouts is a great way to gain endurance. The upper-level track at Pace is open for the remainder of the day unless there are Volleyball games or Basketball games scheduled.

5. It’s healthy

Whether you’re a freshman in College or a senior, we’re all familiar with the term “Freshman ‘15.” Exercising at least 30 minutes at least three times a week can make a huge difference than not exercising at all. The reason why people gain a lot of weight during college is because they don’t do anything but eat and go to class.

Being a student it’s sometimes hard to balance your academic life from your health. However, going to the gym puts you on the path to a healthy lifestyle that you’re body will thank you for in the long run. Hopefully, these tips will encourage you to go to Pace University’s Goldstein Fitness Center.
