For those of you who don’t know RHA refers to Resident Hall Association of Pace University. It is a committee of people who help organize everything that Resident hall at Pace has to offer. It is more than just a committee of people. They meet every week and meetings are not like usual board meetings. Below you will find out more reasons why being in RHA is more than just being on a committee.
1. RHA Family
After a meeting, you will realize RHA is like a family. Everyone is supportive of each other’s work. You will start having deep random talks in the library, cafe or even elevators whenever you see any RHA member around. No one here is shy to say hi or bye around campus. You will make a bunch of senior students as your friends which might even be helpful personally when you are stuck with some coursework.
2. Fun at meetings
RHA Meetings are not the real meetings, they are a fun way to meet and know each other more and at same time plan events for residents. It starts with a brainstorming puzzle, includes an icebreaker and has open forums to advertise anything that you have to offer. Getting more involved with meetings are the best way to stay involved with people of RHA and develop great bindings with seniors
RHA is responsible for planning and organizing on-campus events. Working with the e-board people of Resident hall not only gives you friends for life but also an experience of how to manage events. Besides this, you also make a bunch of friends from people who attend the event. Thus, it is a good way to be involved more around campus and learn some management skills from your seniors.
4. After event scenes
Being in the management team, of course, it would seem like you would miss enjoying the event with your friends. But luckily that is not the real scene. Fun for RHA team starts when the event ends. You have whole space to yourself. Everyone dance sings and enjoys the fun of event by themselves. Believe it or not, everyone is extremely friendly and open to whatever you have to offer.
In conclusion, if you want to stay more involved around campus, stay in touch with seniors, get a great guidance from them while also learning some management skills – RHA is a place to be. Also, in future, if your goal is to become an RA (Resident Assistant) for our dorms, RHA is the best place to start learning more about the on-campus residence.
