There are a number of buildings that students should know in college. These being the buildings they walk by and step foot in for classes, socializing, eating, and relaxing. Here are the ten buildings that you need to know at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

1. Louise Slaughter Hall

This building is an academic building on campus. It is home to the Center of Integrated Manufacturing Systems, the applied research and industry outreach centers, CIMS labs, and other offices pertaining to different areas of RIT.

2. Engineering Technology Hall

This building is home to the Engineering Hall. It houses the College of Engineering. Students will have access to the a number of research and teaching labs, classrooms designed for innovative learning, and other resources for students to use during their time at the university.

3. Student Innovation Hall

This building offers a 10,000 square-foot space for students. This enclosed glass facility is the home to the Student Innovation Hall. Students will have a chance to work in the presentation and meeting areas, the lounge area, and the offices that are made available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

4. James E. Gleason Hall

This building is home to an academic building. It is home to the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, the Brinkman Machine Tools and Manufacturing Laboratory, and a number of other facilities. Students will also have access to offices around this building as well.

5. Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science

This building is one of the main academic buildings on campus. It is home to the world-renowned Imaging Science program here at RIT. Students will have access to classrooms, laboratories for research purposes, and Imaging lab, and offices for the Imaging Science department.

6. Frank E. Gannett Hall

This building is home to the Frank E. Gannett Hall. It is home to the College of Art and Design. Students will able to find a number of classrooms, laboratories for teaching and research purposes, and offices for the College of Art and Design.

7. Student Alumni Union

This building houses the Student Alumni Union. It allows the alumni and the main prospective units connect. Students will have a chance to utilize the living and learning lab facilities, the services and programming this building offices, and lounge areas.

8. Frank Ritter Ice Arena

Are you always amazed by the ice skaters at the Olympics? This arena is home to the Frank Ritter Ice Arena. This ice rink was named after Frank Ritter who was one of the professors and founders of RIT's Mechanics Institute.

9. Campus Center

This multi-use space s home to the Campus Center. It is the center of student life. Students will have a chance to utilize conference rooms on the main floor, a general-purpose club, work, and services area, and lounge areas that are located throughout the building.

10. Gordon Field House and Activities Center

This building is home to the Gordon Field House and Activities Center which houses the campus's wellness program. Students will have a chance to utilize the fitness center and aquatics center for competition and recreational use at their own discretion.

Rochester Institute of Technology is a private doctoral university that is home to over 17,000 students. It is located in the beautiful town of Henrietta located in the Rochester, New York metropolitan area. Students have a chance to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees at this prestigious school.
