Suffolk

All schools have their good traits and their bad traits, but Suffolk University has some unique qualities that can make it a great place to get a degree. Located right in downtown Boston, the school has a lot to offer, and Suffolk University has a handful of reasons why it should be on the list of incoming freshman to apply to.

1. Location

Students will never miss out on the scenic city life because Suffolk University is located right in Boston near the State House, Boston Common and other landmarks. Being right in the city, there is never a shortage of things to do or places to go. Also, students who attend often feel better prepared for living on their own being in the city. Learning how to be independent when it comes to finances, time management and staying healthy comes quite naturally living near or in Boston.

2. Diversity

Suffolk University if renowned nationwide for having a diverse student body. As of 2016, about 23% of Suffolk students were international students. Despite this, many of Suffolk’s students are American citizens but were born abroad or have lived abroad. For those who desire diverse views, diverse students and want to learn more about the world, Suffolk is a great place to start.

3. Law Program

When Googling Suffolk notable alumni, a list of government officials, lawyers and even some journalists will appear. This is due to Suffolk’s sought after law program and graduate school. Suffolk University is known for its law program – since the school started on law – being very solid. Students looking to go to law school should consider Suffolk Law as one of their top options.

4. Internship and Job Opportunities

No matter the major, Suffolk is a great place to be in order to get strong internship and job opportunities during and after graduation. Businesses and companies litter the city and the Massachusetts State House is crammed with Suffolk alumni. Suffolk has relationships with the State House and various businesses in Boston and its surrounding area, so finding jobs near campus during college and thereafter is much easier.

5. Clubs

Suffolk’s club culture is huge compared to other schools. Suffolk has scores of clubs available for students to join, including media groups, performing arts groups, diverse student associations and more. Finding a student who is not involved on campus one way or another is hard to find and there is something for everyone to join. Whether or not new Suffolk students were very involved in high school, Suffolk’s clubs are a phenomenal way to get involved and take advantage of what clubs have to offer.

If you’re looking for inclusion, to join a club in order to branch out or to possibly go to law school, Suffolk may be a good candidate. Suffolk has some unique reasons why it’s a fantastic place to spend four years obtaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
