Many people think that the best thing about college is that you can pick your classes to be at the times you want. Although this can be very nice if you want to sleep in, it can also result in a lack of adventure and productivity. Keep reading for four reasons to take morning classes at UC Irvine.
1. Your entire day will be free
If you take classes in the mornings, your entire day will be free. You will have many activities that you can do for the rest of the day. For example, you can go to the beach or the gym, and still have time to do your homework and studying for the day! It is better to get your classes over with than to sleep in and hang out until class starts later in the day.
2. More time to review after class
Enrolling in early classes allows for more time to review the material after class. This is a great study habit to have because it will help you with preparing for midterms and finals. If you take later classes, you may not have time for review because of other obligations. Try to make reviewing after class a habit if you have time for it, because it will definitely be helpful for the future.
3. You will see more people on campus
UC Irvine’s campus is busy from 10am-3pm, which means all the clubs and vendors are on Ring Road at this time. You will see more people and more friends if you take earlier classes. It is boring taking night classes because you do not see as many people. Sometimes, its nice to see your friends on campus because it gives you a small break from lectures and class work.
4. More opportunities for extracurricular activities
If you take early classes, you will finish earlier. Therefore, that means you can join more clubs and actually be able to attend their meetings! Most clubs meet around the times of 4:00-6:00 in the afternoon. If you have class during these times, it may be hard to be more involved in extracurricular activities.
Taking earlier classes definitely has many benefits. If you take classes at an early time, you will have a lot more free time during the day and night. This means you can get ahead in school or be more involved in extracurricular activities. College is short, so try to do the most you can with your days!
