Thanksgiving break is just around the corner, and you know what that means. No, it’s not holiday music and hot chocolate. It’s almost finals season, and here are the 5 stages that you’ll go through during that terrible week.

1. Realizing you have to start studying

The Thanksgiving break is positioned in a terrible spot in the calendar for all UConn Huskies. You come back from break very relaxed, and overjoyed from the free food only to realize finals week is two weeks away. If you put a good amount of effort into this semester your probably fine, however the rest of us are going to realize we’re screwed. Grab a Monster husky because it’s time to go to Homer Babbidge.

2. Regretting skipping all of those classes

Remember when you decided to take that nap instead of going to class. Remember when you thought taking an 8 am on Friday was a good idea. Well this is the time when you regret the decision to skip all your Stat 1100 lectures. It’s okay, let it all out, because now you have to teach yourself all the information from the beginning of the year, or beg your professor for extra credit. If you’re an informed husky you might even go to the Q center, but honestly praying is your only option.

3. Calling the library “home” for the entire week

If you didn’t know young husky, the library is open 24/7 during finals week. Hunker down in a comfy spot because you’re not going to be leaving anytime soon. If you’re the husky that didn’t get to the library early be ready to fight for a spot because it’s a dog eat dog library out there.

4. Opening the exam and realizing you know nothing

Once you’ve finally left the safety of the library it’s time to open up your exam. The worst feeling in the world is looking at the first question, and realizing you have no idea what is going on. Sometimes you just have to take the “L” and pray that you’ll guess right.

5. The best walk out of a classroom

The best walk you’ll ever take is the walk out of your exam room. If you’re not the last person in the room take a look at your peers, and take pride in the fact that you’re not suffering anymore. While you’re at it, take a look at your professor, and hope that you’ll never see them again.

Congrats huskies, it’s time to celebrate the month of freedom! Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newbie you’ll be going through these stages even if you don’t want to. Grab a pack of energy drinks, and enjoy your Thanksgiving break it’s going to be a while until you get to relax again.
