Choosing the college that you will go to for the next four years of your life can be extremely nerve-wracking. With so much on the table, it can be an incredibly hard decision to make.

Fortunately, I remember the moment I chose to attend the University of New Hampshire, and I have many reasons why I believe that you should do the same!

From the moment I stepped onto the UNH campus here in Durham, I felt at home. Not many colleges will give you that feeling right away, as many take some adjusting and getting used to. The UNH campus and atmosphere was special to me from the moment I first came to visit, and I could not forget that. I remember touring in April of my junior year in high school and knowing that this is where I wanted to be.

Of course, I still had to keep my options open and explore other schools. UNH stood out though and was always my first choice no matter what schools I looked at. Not only did it feel like home, but all of the students that were out and about on days that I would visit genuinely looked happy to be on campus. Everyone around was sporting UNH apparel, and there was activity everywhere on campus. I loved that the UNH student body loved where they were, and loved showing off their school. The school spirit here is unlike any other school across the New England Region.

I also realized that the UNH campus is extremely convenient. With everything you need just a couple minutes away, it makes your time as a wildcat much more enjoyable, and it is easier for you to live a healthy lifestyle. With great dining halls all over campus, to a Main St. lined with all of the necessities, you can not go wrong or ever go without something when you’re a student at UNH.

Finally, what really makes me love UNH– and a big reason why you will love it too if and when you choose to attend– is the kindness throughout the entire campus. Whether it is student to student or student to professor contact, everyone communicates with a staggering amount of respect towards one another. Coming to UNH means meeting great people and making great friends that will last a lifetime. Everyone on campus tries their best to make sure that everyone has a place, which means a lot to the student body.

So, as an anxious high school senior hurrying to finish up that Common App, make sure the University of New Hampshire is on your list. You will love the environment, the professors, and being in Wildcat Country for the next four years.

Every day is a great day to be a Wildcat.
