Just like every school, the University of New Hampshire has certain schools that is a requirement to beat when it comes to sporting events. UNH is a talented school when it comes to sports, so everyone tends to get a little competitive. Here are UNH’s top 3 rivals.

3. Boston College.

The University of New Hampshire gets pretty competitive when it comes to playing this team in hockey. The Whittemore Center is usually packed, and the student section does not have one available seat. It is always fun to watch the wildcats take on Boston College in a good ol’ hockey game!

2. The University of Vermont.

UNH plays the University of Vermont in multiple sports, and the games can get pretty competitive. Whether it’s hockey or football, the Wildcats cheer loud and proud for their team, and it is guaranteed that every seat will be taken at a game being played against UVM.

1.  The University of Maine.

UMaine is byfar the most serious rival that UNH has. Whether it be in hockey, football or basketball, the UNH wildcats are not friends with the bears of UMaine. The Field House, the Whittemore Center, and the Wildcat Stadium will all be packed when playing UMaine. Students get competitive and defensive at even just the mention of UMaine.
