The University of Northern British Columbia is a small, research-intensive public university in British Columbia, Canada. One of the most notable alumni of the college is James Moore PC, a Canadian politician who formerly served as the Minister of Industry in the cabinet of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. University of Northern British Columbia offers a variety of courses. Here are 10 different math courses you need to check out:

1. Math 100- Calculus I

This course is an introduction to the calculus of single variable, aimed towards science majors. Topics include functions of single variable and inverses, limits and continuity.

Students will learn to use Maple software in this course. The course is worth 3 credit hours. The instructor of the course is Jennifer Hyndman. This is a great starter course for more difficult math.

2. Math 115-Precalculus

This course examines algebraic manipulation. Students will learn about solutions to algebraic equations and functions, inverses, graphing and analytic geometry.

This is a great course to learn different aspects of calculus before taking the actual calc course. It prepares students for what has to come. The professor of the course is Jennifer Hyndman.

3. Math 101-Calculus II

This course is a continuation of MATH 100-3. Students will learn about infinite sequences and series, Taylor series, volumes, moments masses and centre of mass.

Students will need to learn how to use Maple software. The course is worth up to 3 credit hours. The course is taught by the instructor Jennifer Hyndman.

4. Math 320-Survey of Algebra

This course introduces the standard algebraic structures, their properties, and applications. Students will be exposed to the topics of equivalence relations, elementary group theory, and finite groups. Students will also learn about cyclic groups, permutation groups, group homomorphisms, and group products.

This course is worth 3 credit hours. The course is taught by professor Jennifer Hyndman.

5. Math 152-Calculus for Non-majors

This course covers limits, derivative, and techniques of differentiation. Students will learn about exponential functions, exponential growth, and maxima and minima.

6. Math 201-Introduction to Complex Analysis

This course covers complex numbers and topology of the complex plane, and the theory of analytic functions. Students will learn about the precise definition of limit and continuity, and harmonic functions.

7. Math 150-Finite Mathematics for Business and Economics

This course is offered primarily for students in School of Business and the Department of Economics. The course covers functions and graphs. Students will learn about linear systems of equations, matrix notation and properties, matrix inversion, and linear programming.

This course helps business students to develop skills of predicting sales goals and likelihoods. The course is taught by Sam Walters. The course is worth 3 credit hours.

8. Math 450-Combinations

This course is an introduction to Combinatorics. Topics include counting principles, principles of inclusion, and exclusion. Students will learn about generating functions, graph theory, and applications.

The course is a very hands-on visual course as it uses graphs. The course is taught by professor Sam Walters and is worth 3 credit hours.

9. Math 230-Ordinary Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems

Laplace Transform Table, Formula, Examples and Properties

This course introduces the basic theory and application of ordinary differential equations and boundary value problems. The course covers linear second-order and higher-order equations, method of undetermined coefficients, variation of parameters and linear systems of ordinary differential equations. Students will also learn about Laplace transforms.

This course is taught by Sam Walters. The course is worth 3 credit hours. This is a great course to take if you are interested in learning about the basics of differential equations and will prove helpful for math later on.

10. Math 224-Foundations of Modern Mathematics

This course develops the essential components of Zermelo-Fraenkel set theory. Students will learn about the standard number of systems. Students will also learn about rational, real, and complex number systems.

The course is worth 3 credit hours and is set up in a lecture-style format. The course is taught by professor Sam Walters. This is a great course to take for students who are interested in theories.
