The students of the University of Rhode Island are very fortunate to be able to attend their college classes on such a beautiful campus every day. With being located 15 minutes from the beach, to having old style castles on campus, the university possesses a unique look. However, the school also has numerous spots for students to study that any type of student would love. Here are 6 places to study at the University of Rhode Island.
1. Carother’s Library.
This is quite obvious, considering it is a library. However, students have many different environments to choose from if they would like to study in the library. There are lounge areas, 24 hour areas, and quiet areas located all throughout the library. Find the atmosphere that works best for you and head over to the library if you have some work to get done!
2. Ram’s Den.
Although this is a food court, there are plenty of spots for students to sit and get some work done in Ram’s Den. Purchase a Grab & Go and find a comfy seat if you have some studying to do, and do not mind a little background noise when you are getting your homework done. Studying here means a comfy seat, and quick access to food and Dunkin Donuts!
3. The Union.
The Memorial Union Building at the University of Rhode Island has countless lounges and study areas for students. If you enjoy being around sound and activity while you are studying, then the Union is the place for you! Find a chair, couch, or desk, set yourself up, and get some studying done in the Union.
4. The quad.
When the weather gets warmer, students often spend a lot of free time on the quad on campus. Although a lot of students will be participating in games or other social outings during their time on the quad, it is also a great place to study. If you have a lot of work to do, but still want to enjoy a nice day in Kingston, find a shady spot out on the quad, enjoy the warmth and get some of your studying done!
5. Your dorm room.
A lot of people prefer the comfort of their bed and the quietness of their dorm room when they are studying. This is completely okay and very manageable. If you decide that you get your best work done in your dorm room with not many distractions, do just that!
6. Dorm lounges.
If you prefer to study with a group rather than by yourself, dorm room lounges are always an option. Since your URI ID will get you into any residence hall before 11pm, meet up with some of your friends in the building of your choice and get some of your work done in one of the lounges around campus. This will allow you to get your work done, while also mingling with friends!
Overall, there are a lot of options for great study spots around campus at the University of Rhode Island. Figure out the environment that works best for you, find your spot on campus, and work hard this semester! Good luck Rams!
