The University of Rhode Island cares about the students that attend and their health during their time on campus. As a college student, it is important that you take some time out of your day to exercise and make sure that you are keeping your body in shape during the long semesters. Luckily, there are classes to take and easy ways to make sure this happens. Here are 5 workout classes to participate in at the University of Rhode Island.

1. Yoga

The University of Rhode Island offers it’s students a yoga class to participate in over the course of the semester. This class usually takes place once a week, early in the morning. It is perfect for those who want something to wake them up for class, and keep their body stretched and in good shape throughout the semester!

2. Zumba

This is a fun class for people that do not necessarily like working out and exercising with weights and machines. Zumba is a fun class to take to keep active, assure that you are exercising, and to have some fun. The class keeps you moving the whole time, which makes it easier to burn more calories. The class is more fun than a chore, and is great for people who have a hard time finding the desire to go to the gym!

3. Body Pump.

Body pump is a class that takes students through a full body work out. The class is fun and fast paced, making it easier to work out, because there are no breaks and time to slow down. This class is good for people that want to work out, but need some sort of structure when they go to the gym.

4. Spin

Spin is a class that takes place on the machine bikes in the gym. This is for people who want to work out, but don’t want to partake in anything too demanding and strenuous. With this, you will get a good workout, and will not feel too tired or sore the day after! This is perfect for people who are looking to stay in shape rather than people who are looking to gain muscle.

URI makes sure that there is an option for every kind of person when it comes to fitness classes. This is great for students that are hesitant to go to the gym on their own, and have a different style of working out. Stay healthy this semester, Rams!
