One comes out of class and has absolutely no idea what the professor had explained. In order to alleviate this sense of frustration and discomfort, one has the options of going back to the room, heading to the gym, or attending the Learning Enhancement Center at the Carlson Library. What should he or she do?

What is the Learning Enhancement Center?

The LEC (acronym) is a tutoring center available at the Carlson Library (visit article on Carlson Library for more details). Students who have excelled in the subjects have the eligibility of tutoring for those respective subjects. Along with helping students finish homework and other assignments, the tutors do a wonderful job helping students understand the material as well as apply the concepts in different contexts.

How can you be a tutor at the LEC Center?

To be a tutor, there is a certain process that one is required to follow. Initially, you have to be at least be a sophomore or junior at the University of Toledo. Then, after submitting grades for those particular classes that you’re interested in tutoring, you’ll be required to schedule and attend an interview. Finally, after all the processing is over, you can officially be recognized as a tutor and work at the tutoring center. For more information on the process, please visit this article.

When given the option to attend the LEC Center after a stressful, incomprehensible day, going to the LEC Center is arguably the best option that the student should undertake. You will not only be able to finish the assigned homework but will also be able to understand the concepts, ruminate on the concepts, and be prepared for the next lecture.
