Gerontology the study of older people and aging. Geriatrics the branch of health care concerned with older people. Decrease vision o need for glasses and more light o sensitivity to glare o. Dental health: problems common, may lead to malnutrition. Changes in cognitive and sensory systems put elderly at increased risk. Physical exercise: invaluable, protects against hypertension and heart disease. Falls are the main cause for hospitalization in older adulthood.
