Scale: the relationship b/w the part of earth studied compared to earth as a whole. Very specific location compared to the earth would be small scale, vs larger location or region would be more large scale. Space: the physical distance or space between 2 objects, interconnectedness between 2 things. Connections: relationship between people and things across space. Region: broader area of earth distinguished by a distinct combination of cultural and/or physical features. Area formally defined by government, well defined boundaries. Area organised around a node (focal point), fuzzy boundaries. Area identified based on cultural identities, bound to change and subjective to your point of view. What people care about (beliefs, values and customs) What people take care of (obtaining food, shelter, clothing, money)
