Motor control training focuses on re-education of optimal muscle function. May mean increasing recruitment of some muscles, decreased recruitment of others. Pooled results favoured motor control exercise (mce) compared with general exercise with regard to pain in the short and intermediate term and with regard to disability during all time periods. Mce also superior to spinal manual therapy with regard to disability during all time periods but not with regard to pain. Compared with minimal intervention, mce was superior (cid:449)ith regard to (cid:271)oth pai(cid:374) a(cid:374)d disa(cid:271)ilit(cid:455) duri(cid:374)g all ti(cid:373)e periods.
