Week 11 & week 12: justify that nociception occurs in the tissues but pain is in the brain. Pain is peripherally and centrally activated but mediated and interpreted centrally - Nociception only becomes pain if the brain decides to label it as such. It is not until stimuli reach the brain that they acquire meaning.
