Increased hr: decreased bp, nausea, vomiting, weakness, hyperthermia, peripheral vasodilation. Reaches and infect multiple organs or areas of the body: Criteria: temp - <36c or >38c, hr - >90 bpm, rr - >20/min or paco2 <32mmhg, wbc - <4000/mm3, >12000/mm3 or 10% bands (immature neutrophils) Wound management plan - observation and monitoring. Initial response to injury (day 1-4 post injury)
